Since the year 2015, there have been some USB-type Cs coming onto the market; our company’s expertise, drawing process is used on some of those USB-type Cs.
In the past, the general processing pattern for USB point shell was a combination of the conventional bending processing, welding or bending processing, and calking.
However, by changing the method to the drawing processing, it became possible to produce products with no seams which the conventional method was not able to do. 
The proposal of VA and VE applying this drawing process greatly contributed to improve the strength and reliability of the connector.

Gifu Seiki Kougyou can perform both prototype and mass productions of shells for USB 3.1-Type C plug by drawing compound.
We are one of the few presswork manufacturers in the world who have succeeded in mass production by drawing compound utilizing its own mold design technology.

About USB-TYPE C SHELL

USB Type-C is a new standard for connectors which was established in USB’s next generation standard “USB 3.1”. 

We adopted a vertically and laterally symmetric design for USB Type-C connectors; as a result, the configuration of receptacle for connector is reversible and it can be inserted in either direction. Therefore, the problem which was often observed with the conventional type USB A connector; that is “Insertion is impossible because of the vertically opposite direction.” does not occur with Type-C connector.
