What is Drawing Compound?

rawing compound is one of the presswork; it is a technology to draw (compress) a sheet of metal by a metal mold set up onto a pressing machine, into a concave shape, and then to form it into a vessel figuration without any seams. It can produce various configurations by changing the metal mold specification such as of cupping, square drawing, irregular shape drawing.
Drawing compound is said to be the most difficult to design its metal molds among other pressing compounds.
Moreover, realizing a drawing compound with no wrinkles, deformations and/or cracks is possible only when the metal mold, machine and compounding conditions are well engaged with each other.
For the best drawing compound, ability to design and develop the right metal molds, and the amount of experience in process work are the key elements.

What is Presswork?

Presswork is to transform (shearing, bending, drawing, etc.) platy materials in most cases, by strongly holding the material in an uneven-shaped metal mold, which is set up onto the pressing machine.
